Lost..

valentine's day..

bored and alone... technically not alone but u know wat i mean..

well is the once a year event where couples take this time to express their everlasting love for one another.. some how this year the meaning of this day was lost on me.. as i was rushing to the school photocopying shop today i met up with a friend whose first question for me was, "so where are u going for your date later?" i was stumped.. how should i answer him? my date is actually a good friend of mine.. guy... and the romantic location is canteen b... isnt it great? and no im not gay.. not that i have anything against them but unfortunately or fortunately im not gay.. well in the end i only answered my friend, "the meaning of valentine's day is lost on me".

overhearing some of my friend's conversation during the toilet break during lecture, it seems that most of them have dates or already have gone out with their other halves.. but they all say the same thing.. none of them seems to see the importance of valentine's day.. there is even a chinese song that sings, "if a couple is in love, everyday can be valentine's day".. i believe that can be so, but how can it be done if u only meet once a week... dun even mention talking on the phone.. or even sms... i wont go into the historical beginings of this day but given the modern commercial settings.. a nice dinner tonight can set u back easily by $100.. flowers? probably another $70.. sure there are other alternatives which are easier on the pocket.. but somehow the meaning of today is really lost... i believe that the most romantic time of any relationship is during the initial stages.. before all the realities of life and the responsibilities settle in... if not now then when? if its not even been taken seriously now then when? it seems that my views on love is constantly changed as the days go by.. the concepts i've had seems to be no longer valid.. modern day.. new era.. new year.. 2007.. lost.. lost is the innocence... lost is the hope..
